The Haunted McCloud Railroad Excursion runs in McCloud on Friday, October 30, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:30 PM. When is the Haunted McCloud Railroad Excursion?
Friday, October 30, 2026. Riders load onto the railbikes at 6:00 PM and the tour lasts about two and a half hours. The listing notes the excursion also ran on October 23, so this is the last date of the season. Spots are limited.
Where is it and how do you get there from Etna?
The excursion is in McCloud, the old mill town on the south side of Mount Shasta. The listing doesn't give the exact departure point, so confirm it when you book. From Blossom it is about 1 hour 25 minutes.
Go down by daylight over Gazelle: take Gazelle-Callahan Road from Callahan to Gazelle, then continue on to McCloud. It's only a touch longer, but you see gorgeous land and Lovers Leap rock, and it's a nice cell-phone-free drive (there's no service). Plan to be in McCloud well before 6:00.
The drive home will be after dark, so come back the main way: I-5 north to Yreka, then Highway 3 home. Go with someone, take it slow for deer, and check Caltrans QuickMap before you set out.
What should you know before you go?
Price: $125 for adults and $62 for children. The listing doesn't define the age cutoff, so ask when you book.
Booking: the listing invites you to book your ride but doesn't include a booking link. Use the contact details on the listing and book soon, since spots are limited.
What's included: the railbike ride, s'mores by the fire and a pick-your-own pumpkin from the patch.
What to bring: warm gloves, a hat and layers. Pedaling at sunset in late October gets cold, and McCloud sits higher than Etna.
Kids: children's pricing suggests families are welcome. The ghost stories lean spooky, including a local legend called Logger Larry.
