Sushi near Etna, CA: Ashland, Medford, Jacksonville and Mt. Shasta (2026)

Scott Valley has a lot of things, but a sushi bar is not one of them. The good news: some of the best sushi in the State of Jefferson is an easy drive away, and it pairs well with the trips our guests already take. This guide is for two kinds of readers: guests at Blossom deciding where to go, and anyone in Southern Oregon or the far north of California searching for sushi near them.

If you only have one night: in Ashland, book Kobe for a creekside dinner, or walk in at Umami Sushi. In Medford, NORI Sushi and Izakaya is the newest and most fun.

Before you go: plan it into your trip

  • Staying three nights or fewer? Keep your days in Siskiyou County and save sushi for the day you fly in or out of Medford. Ashland and Medford sit right on the way.

  • Staying four nights or more? Make a day of Ashland or Jacksonville: a morning walk in Lithia Park or on Jacksonville’s historic streets, an early dinner, and home before dark.

  • Drive times from Blossom: about 1 hour to Mt. Shasta, 1 hour 15 minutes to Ashland, 1 hour 30 minutes to Medford, and 1 hour 40 minutes to Jacksonville.

  • November to March: the Siskiyou Summit on I-5 can need chains. Check Caltrans QuickMap and TripCheck before you leave, and plan to drive home in daylight.

  • Small-town hours: many of these places close one or two days a week and some close between lunch and dinner. Call ahead, especially Sunday to Tuesday.
