Facials and skin care in Etna

Citrine Lounge Spa, 591 Collier Way, Etna

Citrine Lounge Spa is the place to keep an eye on in Etna. Her services are thoughtfully curated around each person's skin and hair profile, giving you exactly what you need to restore and thrive. Choose the one-hour Citrine Signature Facial or an hour of Reiki, and book online ahead, with appointments staggered if you're coming as a group.

The sisters. Citrine is run by Teanna and her sister Tearra, who does spa manicures and pedicures. They also offer herbal foot soaks in Egyptian copper basins and ionic foot baths.

The apothecary. Ask about the new apothecary while you're there. It's still in its early days: she's doing careful research and community outreach to source locally harvested and dried plants and medicinal herbs, the freshest she can find, and she and Blossom are working on a spa ritual together built around them.

Yoga and movement

Kaitlin, Kreate Yoga

Kaitlin of Kreate Yoga is one of the most requested yoga instructors in Ashland, and she has offered private yoga and sound healing at Blossom. Kaitlin loves hot yoga, and guests can choose an indoor or outdoor session, with a fireside option for both. Every session is scheduled and confirmed directly with Kaitlin. Her schedule is known to be packed, so reach out well ahead and expect to pay for the high quality of her offering. She is worth it: her experience, precision and care for her clients are the real thing. She can teach up to four people comfortably inside the house, which makes a private lesson far more reasonable when you share it. She sometimes hosts classes with Chai Perlman, too.

Chai Perlman, Chai T Trains

Chai Perlman of Chai T Trains is a structured, professional personal trainer in Etna. He offers private lessons, online training and more, and he sometimes hosts yoga classes with local instructors in his home studio. Local yoga instructors

Other local instructors are available for private sessions too. Ask the concierge and we will match you with someone who fits your practice and your dates.

At the house

Yoga mats live in the second bedroom. Carry them out to the garden for a slow morning, or walk the meadow and the oak grove before the day starts.

Treats between treatments

Walk to Farmhouse Bakery on Main Street for a pastry, a little taste of France in downtown Etna. For macarons or sourdough back at the house, place a custom order ahead with Little Whisk Baking Co., a local baker who bakes to order.

Between treatments, stop at Wildwood Coffee on Main Street for espresso, chai or a smoothie.

Local art between appointments: Marble Rim Gallery

For a quieter kind of wellness, walk to Marble Rim Gallery at 448 Main Street. It is a cooperative founded in 1991 by local artists and crafters, and its members show and sell their own paintings, pottery, jewelry and more. It is the best place in Etna to see what the artists of Scott Valley are making, and to take a piece of it home.

Culinary wellness: Denny Bar Co.

Good food is part of the ritual. Denny Bar Co., at 511 Main Street, is the culinary destination of an Etna spa day: wood-fired pizza, a full dinner menu and Sunday brunch. Book a table for the evening after your treatments, or for a slow brunch before you head home.
