Etna High Homecoming: Lions vs. Lions, Friday, October 30, 2026

Homecoming week at Etna High School ends with the game: the Etna Lions host the Redding Christian Lions on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 7:30 PM, on the home field at 400 Howell Avenue in Etna. In a town this size, homecoming is everybody's night, and you do not need to know a single player to feel it.

Why is this one worth going to?

It is Lions against Lions, and it is the biggest game of the league season so far. Etna comes in at 7 and 1, unbeaten in Shasta Cascade League play and on a five-game winning streak. Redding Christian is 9 and 0 and, by MaxPreps, carries 24 straight wins dating back to last season. The two best teams in the league meet on homecoming night, in front of a home crowd.

The school's October newsletter put homecoming in the last week of October, and this year's homecoming royalty has already been named. Friday night is when the whole valley gets to cheer them on.

When and where?

  • Kickoff: 7:30 PM, Friday, October 30, 2026, per the Etna Lions schedule on MaxPreps.

  • Where: Etna High School, 400 Howell Avenue, Etna.

  • Tickets: the schedule lists no online tickets for this game. Plan on paying at the gate, and check with the school if you want to be sure.

  • Can't make it? The game streams live on the NFHS Network.

Getting there from Blossom

Etna High is in town, so Blossom guests can walk over and skip the parking. Late October evenings in Scott Valley turn cold fast once the sun drops behind the mountains, so bring a warm layer, a blanket for the bleachers, and gloves if you have them. If you are driving in from elsewhere in the valley, go slowly after dark: deer cross the roads around Etna at night.

Make a weekend of it

Friday is the start of a full weekend in Etna. On Halloween, Denny Bar Company pours its Black Bottle Release from 11 AM, and the Etna PAL Trunk or Treat fills Main Street from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. Our Halloween in downtown Etna guide has the full lineup, and everything else is on our events calendar.

Go Etna.
