Weed Truck-or-Treat on Main Street: Saturday, October 31, 2026

The Weed Truck-or-Treat fills Main Street in Weed on Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Hosted by the Weed Chamber of Commerce, it is one of the county's biggest Halloween gatherings: kids go from decorated vehicle to decorated vehicle collecting treats and playing games, and everyone is welcome, in costume or not.

When is the Weed Truck-or-Treat?

Halloween night, Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Sunset in Weed is about 6:05 PM, so it starts in the last light and finishes in the dark, with the decorated cars at their best.

Where is it and how do you get there from Etna?

The event runs on Main Street in Weed. The chamber's events page also mentions City Hall, so check there on the day for the exact starting spot. From Blossom it is about an hour. By daylight, go over Gazelle: Gazelle-Callahan Road from Callahan to Gazelle, then on to Weed. It's only a touch longer, but you see gorgeous land and Lovers Leap rock, and it's a nice cell-phone-free drive (there's no service).

The drive home will be after dark on Halloween night. Go with someone, come home the main way (I-5 north to Yreka, then Highway 3), and take it slow, both for deer and for trick-or-treaters in every town you pass. Check Caltrans QuickMap before you leave.

What should you know before you go?

  • Cost: the listing doesn't mention a fee, and costumes are optional.

  • What's there: treats and games at the decorated vehicles, spooky Halloween music, food vendors and hot chocolate.

  • Crowds: the chamber says it usually draws more than 2,000 kids and their parents, so arrive early and agree on a meeting spot in case anyone gets separated.

  • What to bring: a treat bag, a flashlight or glow sticks for small trick-or-treaters, and warm layers under costumes.

  • Want to stay closer? Etna has its own Trunk or Treat, hosted by Etna PAL on Main Street from 5:30 to 6:30 PM, a walk from the house. Our Halloween in downtown Etna guide has the details.
