Mt. Shasta Ski Park 2026 to 2027: passes, tickets, lessons, tubing and the drive from Etna

Mt. Shasta Ski Park is an independently owned ski area on the southeast flank of Mount Shasta, near McCloud, and it has been running since 1985. It is about an hour and a half from Blossom Sanctuary in Etna, which makes it an easy day of skiing or snowboarding with a quiet house to come home to. Here is what we know about the 2026 to 2027 season, with every figure taken from the ski park's own site unless we say otherwise.

The mountain

  • 635 skiable acres, 2,036 feet of vertical, base elevation 5,500 feet.
  • 38 trails, with a longest run of over 2 miles. Terrain is 20 percent beginner, 45 percent intermediate and 35 percent advanced.
  • Lifts: Gray Butte Quad, Douglas Triple, Coyote Triple, Marmot Triple, plus a Moving Carpet and a Magic Carpet for beginners.
  • Beginner and intermediate terrain parks.
  • Twilight skiing on 14 trails served by 2 lifts.

2026 to 2027 season dates

The pass page lists a season start target of November 24, and the five day pass table says mid November. Both depend on snow, so check the ski park's hours page before you go. A Pre-Season Party is set for Saturday, December 5, 2026, 5 to 8:30 PM. Last season was cut short by warm weather after 55 operating days, and pass holders received credit toward this season under the park's 60-day season guarantee.

Passes and tickets

  • 2026 to 2027 five day pass: Adult (13 to 64) $480, Senior (65+) $380, Junior (8 to 12) $290, Pup (7 and under) $170.
  • Season passes are on sale through the park's online store, with 0 percent monthly payments through November. Perks include discounts on tubing, food, rentals and lessons, Powder Alliance partner days and an Indy Pass add-on. Check the site for current season pass pricing.
  • Day tickets: 2026 to 2027 window rates were not posted when we checked. For reference, OnTheSnow listed 2025 to 2026 adult day tickets at $99 weekday and $109 weekend.
  • Military: eligible active duty, veteran and retired military guests with a U.S. Military ID can buy $50 lift tickets any day.

Lessons, rentals and tubing

  • Ski and Ride School: private lessons from age 3, group lessons from age 5, and an adaptive program with bi-ski lessons.
  • Rentals: full adult packages are $45 weekday, $50 weekend and $55 holiday. Only full-day rentals can be booked online.
  • Snow tubing: two 300-foot lanes on Saturdays and Sundays, 10 AM to 4 PM. $15 for ages 5 to 12 and $25 for 13 and up, with a tube and two hours included.
  • Backcountry: the park sells a backcountry access booking with one ride up the Douglas lift, with an optional guided orientation. Skins are required.

Getting there from Etna

Take Highway 3 north through Greenview and Fort Jones to Interstate 5 at Yreka, then south on I-5 to Exit 736 for Highway 89. Go about 4 miles east, turn left on Ski Park Highway and climb about 4.5 miles to the lodge. Plan on about 1 hour 30 minutes in good conditions. Parking is free and first come, first served, and the park suggests arriving before 9:30 AM. Four-wheel drive, snow tires and chains may be required on Ski Park Highway. For road alerts, text MSSP Updates to (844) 596-7275, or call the park at (530) 926-8600. Read our winter driving guide before you go.

Gear and guides in town

After the lifts close

McCloud has small cafes and dinner at Sage Restaurant in the historic McCloud Hotel, and Mount Shasta's outdoor ice rink is open November 14, 2026 to February 21, 2027. Or drive home before dark, put your feet up by the wood stove and cook dinner together at Blossom. See our full ski guide and price your stay.

Packing for slow mornings? The Vibes Valuta Winter Drop is six pieces in soft neutrals, embroidered in old gold thread: a ringer tee, rib tank, crew and pant, plus a yoga mat and bottle.
