Olde Fashion Christmas in Weed: Saturday, November 28, 2026

Olde Fashion Christmas lights up Heritage Plaza on Main Street in Weed on Saturday, November 28, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. The Weed Chamber of Commerce evening brings a tree lighting, Santa's arrival, caroling and free hot chocolate, chili and cookies, the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Packing for slow mornings? The Vibes Valuta Winter Drop is six pieces in soft neutrals, embroidered in old gold thread: a ringer tee, rib tank, crew and pant, plus a yoga mat and bottle.

When is Olde Fashion Christmas in Weed?

Saturday, November 28, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, per the Discover Siskiyou listing. The tree lighting opens the evening, and Santa arrives after.

Where is it and how do you get there from Etna?

Heritage Plaza is on Main Street in downtown Weed, by City Hall (the chamber's flyer calls it City Hall Plaza). From Blossom it is about an hour.

Sunset is about 4:42 PM, so this one is dark from the start. The easiest plan is to go down in daylight: leave Etna by about 2:30 and go over Gazelle, on Gazelle-Callahan Road from Callahan to Gazelle and then on to Weed. It's only a touch longer, but you see gorgeous land and Lovers Leap rock, and it's a nice cell-phone-free drive (there's no service). Spend the afternoon in town before the lights come on. The drive home will be after dark, so come back the main way, on I-5 north to Yreka and then Highway 3. Go with someone, take it slow for deer, and check Caltrans QuickMap, since late November can bring snow and ice.

What should you know before you go?

  • Cost: free. The listing says the food, drinks and raffle prizes are all complimentary.

  • What's on: the tree lighting ceremony, Santa's arrival, caroling, a raffle, and hot chocolate, chili and cookies.

  • Staying warm: the organizers set out heaters and a wood-burning fire pit. Still, bring your warmest coat, a hat and gloves.

  • Kids: a Santa arrival and a tree lighting are made for children. Bring a camera.

  • Plans change: check the chamber's events page or Facebook the day of, in case weather shifts the plans.
