Denny Bar Co. is the reason many people first drive to Etna: a distillery and restaurant on Main Street, in a historic downtown you can cross on foot in a few minutes. The distillery offers tours Friday through Sunday, so a weekend is the natural fit.
The practical problem is the evening. Etna has no taxi or ride service, so the best place to stay is somewhere you can walk home from after dinner. Blossom Sanctuary sits about a 10 to 15 minute walk from Main Street, down an oak-canopied driveway.
Next door: the Wild Hare Inn
Right next door to Denny Bar Co., the Wild Hare Inn is the newest addition from the Denny Bar team: a private Victorian mansion you can reserve entirely to yourselves, with gardens, pickleball courts and more. It is the most luxurious stay in Etna, and we are happy to recommend it if a Victorian mansion sounds like your kind of weekend.
Or stay just down the street
If you would like to wake up among the oaks, Blossom Sanctuary is just down the street. We are a little more acreage, but a lot less house: a private three-bedroom home for up to six guests on 4.2 acres of terraced gardens, with string lights glowing in the oak grove at dusk, a hammock for slow afternoons, a wood stove for cold nights and mountain views across the meadow. Walk to Main Street in 10 to 15 minutes for coffee, dinner and a drink at Denny Bar Co., then stroll home under the stars. We would love to host you.
A weekend built around Denny Bar
Friday: arrive, settle in, and walk to Main Street for dinner and a drink.
Saturday: coffee at Wildwood Coffee on Main Street. My favorite order is a banana latte with almond milk, hot for fall and iced for summer, plus the avocado toast with all the veggies, no egg, no dairy. If you are not vegan, they have an expansive menu. Then a distillery tour and a pint at Etna Brewing Co. Later, stop by Farm House Bakery, known for its handcrafted, buttery goodness. Eating plant-based? Ask about their plant-based treats. My go-to is the mango sorbet ice cream, and the caramel latte with coconut milk is the move. Wildwood Coffee and Farm House Bakery are my two favorite places to refuel after yoga.
Sunday: a slow morning in the gardens, then the creek pools, about 11 minutes up the mountain.
