Come solo, leave with friends: matched small-group retreats in Scott Valley

Most retreats assume you already have the group. Plenty of people don't. Maybe your friends are scattered, maybe you moved, maybe you just want to meet people who care about the same things you do. This is a retreat for you: come alone, and we match you with two to five other people who want the same kind of weekend.

Matched retreats like this have grown fast, from solo travel tours to dinners with strangers, because a small group with shared interests is one of the easiest ways to make real friends as an adult. Ours is smaller and slower than most: a private house in Etna, a few days in Scott Valley, and a concierge who reads every answer before putting a group together.

Who it is for

  • Women's circles of three to six women.
  • Men's circles of three to six men.
  • Open circles for anyone who would rather be matched on interests alone.
  • People who are new to a city, between chapters, newly sober, recently single, or simply ready for new friends.

How the matching works

  • 1. Tell us what you want. Fill out the form below. It takes about three minutes.
  • 2. A real person reads it. The concierge reviews every request and may text you a few follow-up questions.
  • 3. We build the group. We match on the circle you choose, age range, what you want from the weekend, the activities you like, your pace, your social energy and how you feel about alcohol.
  • 4. Meet before you commit. Once a group forms, we set up a short video call so everyone can say hello before anyone books.
  • 5. The weekend. We plan the days around the group: yoga, a hike, a spa afternoon, a long dinner at the house, stargazing on the porch.

Where you sleep

The house sleeps up to four adults, and the couch makes a comfortable extra bed. Groups of three or four stay in the house. For a group of five or six, ask the concierge about adding camping on the land.

What it costs

You split the house. At the member rate of $555 a night plus 14% county lodging tax, a night costs $632.70 for the whole house. That is about $158 each for four people or about $211 each for three. Food, treatments and activities are extra and paid directly to each business. Join the Sovereign Circle free through December 31, 2026 for the member rate and a gift with your first stay.

House agreements

Before the weekend, everyone agrees to a few simple things: respect for each other's privacy and pace, an easy way to step out of any activity, and the concierge's number for anything you need. You can say no to any plan without explaining why.

A sample weekend

  • Arrive: check in at 3 pm, a walk into Etna, dinner cooked together at the house.
  • Day two: morning yoga, a hike in the Marble Mountains foothills or along the Scott River, an afternoon at Citrine Lounge Spa, stars from the porch.
  • Day three: a slow breakfast, a drive to Ashland for coffee and a soak, then home.

Ready to meet someone new?

Some people come to Blossom for friendship. Others are ready for something braver: an adventure with one other person, and the chance to meet someone new. If that is you, Sovereign Circle members can ask the concierge about Blossom Match, a carefully planned two-person retreat. You are both verified first, nothing happens without a mutual yes, each of you has your own room with a lock, and either of you can leave at any time. Join the Sovereign Circle free through December 31, 2026 for the member rate and a gift with your first stay.
