What a winter stay costs for four, with tax

One house, one total, no surprises at checkout: here is exactly what a winter stay in Etna, California costs for four adults, two couples or a family of up to six.

Money is the quiet tension on a lot of group trips. Someone books, someone else does the math, and somewhere between the cleaning fee and the tax line the friendly mood slips. We would rather you knew the whole number before you even open the booking page. So here it is, plainly: what a winter stay at Blossom Sanctuary costs, what that number covers and how to split it. If you are still choosing dates, see what's on around Etna on our events calendar first.

The winter rates

Low season runs November to February. During those months the house is $555 a night, three nights are from $1,090, and a full week is $2,000. Cleaning and every fee are included in those numbers. The only thing added is the 14% county lodging tax, and it is shown to you before you pay. (For comparison within our own calendar, high season is $600 a night.)

These are founding rates for members of the Sovereign Circle. More on how that works below.

What it costs for four adults, with tax

  • 1 night: $632.70 total, about $158 each.

  • 3 nights: $1,242.60 total, about $311 each, which is about $104 per person per night.

  • 7 nights: $2,280 total, $570 each, which is about $81 per person per night.

For two couples, the three-night stay comes to about $621 per couple. A week comes to $1,140 per couple.

What it costs for a family of up to six

The total for the house does not change with the number of guests, so a family of six pays the same totals as four adults. If you like to think per head (some families splitting with grandparents or another household do), it works out roughly like this:

  • 1 night: $632.70 total, about $105 per person.

  • 3 nights: $1,242.60 total, about $207 per person.

  • 7 nights: $2,280 total, $380 per person.

The house is made for up to four adults, or a family of up to six with children. It is not set up for six adults, and we would rather say so now than have anyone arrive cramped.

What's included

You book the whole house, and nobody else shares it. That covers:

  • Three sleeping spaces: a main bedroom with a California King under vaulted ceilings, a second bedroom with a queen bed, a writing desk, yoga mats and kettlebells, and a loft with a full bed reached by a ladder. The living room couch makes a comfortable extra bed.

  • Blackout curtains in every bedroom and good bedding throughout.

  • One large bathroom.

  • A full kitchen set for a dinner party, and a wood stove beside a round wooden dining table.

  • A living room with a cream sectional sofa, voice-activated lighting and fast Wi-Fi.

  • About 4.2 acres of terraced gardens and old oaks, with a walled garden, hammocks, deer on the lawn and dark skies.

  • A short walk to Main Street in Etna.

  • A concierge who answers by text at 530 572 1122 or by email at Concierge@blossomsanctuary.com.

Which beds suit which group

Two couples. This is the easiest fit. One couple takes the California King in the main bedroom, the other takes the queen in the second bedroom. The loft stays free for bags, reading or a nap. If you want to be fair about the bigger bed, swap halfway through a longer stay, or let the couple in the queen room pay a little less. Either works; just decide before you arrive.

Four friends. Each person can have their own bed: the California King, the queen, the loft's full bed and the couch, which makes a comfortable extra bed. The loft is up a ladder, so give it to whoever is happiest climbing one at night. Friends who are used to sharing can pair up in the two bedrooms instead.

A family of up to six. Parents usually take the main bedroom. Two children fit in the queen in the second bedroom, and the loft suits an older child who is comfortable on a ladder. The couch covers the sixth guest. Children are welcome. Pets are not, so plan for the dog to stay home.

One honest note. There is one large bathroom. For four adults that is very manageable with a little morning give and take. For six, stagger showers and it goes smoothly.

How the Sovereign Circle works

The prices on this page are founding rates for Sovereign Circle members. Joining is free through December 31, 2026. You sign up on the Circle page, and then you book at the founding rates shown here. If you are planning a winter trip with others, it is worth having one person in your group join before the end of December so the dates and price are settled early.

A few ways to split it fairly

  • Equal shares: divide the total by the number of adults. Simple, and it suits two couples or four friends with similar plans.

  • By room: the people in the main bedroom pay a little more than those in the loft or on the couch.

  • By nights: if one person arrives a night late, they pay for the nights they are there.

Agree on the method before booking, put the total in your group chat and you will never have to talk about it again.

Good to know

  • Check-in and checkout: 3 PM and 11 AM.

  • Tax: the 14% county lodging tax is the only addition, and you see it before you pay.

  • Fees: cleaning and every fee are already included.
